In keeping with district practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all students, staff and guests that two students were on the JR Elementary campus 1/20/21 and have since tested positive for COVID-19. All impacted students and staff have been notified by the school. CCISD maintenance completed the regularly scheduled sanitation and E-mist procedures.
CCISD is now offering COVID testing for students and staff, by appointment. For more information, please see the district website at www.calcoisd.org.
Please stay at home if a student/ family member has symptoms for COVID-19. Also, if a student or any individual in the home is waiting on COVID test results, please stay at home. Any of the following symptoms may indicate a possible COVID-19 infection. If a student has any of these symptoms, please keep them at home and call the school nurse.

Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit

Fatigue

Cough, or Difficulty breathing or, Shortness of breath

Headache

Chills or shaking or exaggerated shivering

Loss of taste or smell

An Education Task Force has been created to provide guidance for schools in cases such as these. The Bexar County Region 8 public health authority will conduct an investigation by making contact with the individual and any “close contacts”.
Region 8 phone calls will have a (210) area code. If a student or household member begins to experience any of these symptoms in a way that is not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician. We encourage students, staff or family members connected with JR Elementary to please notify the school if a household member is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19.
