Notification of confirmed COVID-19 case at HHS
Posted on 09/30/2020

In keeping with district practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all students, staff and guests that a Hope High School student has been lab-tested positive for  COVID-19. The school received notification on 9/30/2020. The student was on the campus Monday 9/28.   CCISD has reached out to any student or staff member who had “close contact” with the individual.  Close contacts will remain off-campus for up to 14 days to ensure they do not have the virus so that there will not be any further spread.

Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her. CCISD maintenance is sanitizing and e-misting all impacted areas.

Please stay at home if a student/ family member has symptoms for COVID 19. Also, if a student or any individual in the home is waiting on COVID test results, please stay at home. Any of the following symptoms may indicate a possible COVID-19 infection. If a student has any of these symptoms, please keep them at home and call the school nurse.

Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit

Fatigue

Cough, or Difficulty breathing or, Shortness of breath

Headache

Chills or shaking or exaggerated shivering

Diarrhea, or Vomiting, or Abdominal pain

Loss of taste or smell

Significant muscle pain or ache

Congestion or runny nose, or sore throat

This list does not represent every possible symptom.

A new Education Task Force has been created to provide guidance for schools in cases such as these.  The Bexar County Region 8 public health authority will conduct an investigation by making contact with the individual and any “close contacts”.  “Close Contact” is defined as direct exposure to infectious secretions such as being coughed on or being within 6 ft of an infectious person for over 15 continuous minutes

Region 8 phone calls will have a (210) area code.   If a student or household member begins to experience any of these symptoms in a way that is not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician. We encourage students, staff or family members connected with Hope High School to please notify the school if a household member is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19.

Please notify our school by contacting the Hope main office at 361-552-7084 to report any COVID-related issues. We encourage you to contact your physician if you experience symptoms not typical for you.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the district office at 361-552-9728 or visit our website at www.calcoisd.org.
