Calhoun County ISD is proud to announce that Dr. Jodi Carter has been named Principal of Travis Middle School. Carter comes to Travis from the district’s Curriculum Department, where she served as a Specialist in Science and Social Studies during the 2019-2020 school year. She also coordinated the district’s New Teacher Mentor Program.

Throughout Carter’s many years in education, she has served in a variety of roles including a high school science teacher, high school administrator, and UTSA’s Director of School Partnerships. Additionally, while at UTSA she served as faculty preparing aspiring new teachers in the UTeachSA program.

Carter’s move from UTSA to Calhoun County ISD, represented a return home. She is a product of Calhoun County schools, having attended Jackson Elementary, Crockett Middle School, Travis Middle School and Calhoun High School. After graduating from Calhoun, she attended Texas A&M University, the University of North Dakota, and lastly the University of West Florida where she obtained a doctoral degree in Curriculum & Instruction and Instructional Technology.

“I developed my love of learning while attending Calhoun County Schools,” Carter said, “and I hope to share my passion with the teachers and students of Travis.”

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Carter to Travis Middle School!
