HJM Elementary earns all possible distinction designations in 2019 Accountability Report

The Texas Education Agency recently-announced that Calhoun County ISD’s HJM Elementary earned every distinction designation that is applicable for their school, per the 2019 state accountability system.

Distinction designations are awarded to campuses based on achievement in performance indicators relative to a group of 40 campuses of similar type, size, and student demographics. Depending on campus grade levels and type, the number of potential distinction designations can vary.

HJM Elementary received distinction designations for 1) Academic Achievement in Science, 2) Academic Achievement in Mathematics, 3) Academic Achievement in English Language Arts/Reading, 4) Top 25% Comparative Academic Growth, 5) Post-Secondary Readiness, and 6) Top 25% Comparative Closing the Gaps.

This is HJM Elementary’s third, consecutive year to earn every distinction that the campus is eligible to receive. Additionally, HJM Elementary is one of about 300 schools in the state that earned an “A” rating in 2019.

In total, Calhoun County ISD campuses received 17 distinction designations from the state for performance in 2019.

JR Elementary earned distinctions in 1) Academic Achievement in Science, 2) Academic Achievement in Mathematics, 3) Top 25% Comparative Academic Growth, 4) Post-Secondary Readiness, and 5) Top 25% Comparative Closing the Gaps.

Calhoun High School earned distinctions in 1) Academic Achievement in Science, 2) Academic Achievement in Mathematics, 3) Top 25% Comparative Academic Growth, and 4) Top 25% Comparative Closing the Gaps.

Port O’Connor Elementary earned distinctions in 1) Academic Achievement in English Language Arts/Reading, and 2) Post-Secondary Readiness.
