Happy early birthday to Christine Amador

This  week is homecoming-Here are the themes for the week
Tuesday-Bulldoze the Bulldogs! Construction gear will be necessary as we construct a win!
Wednesday-Wipeout Wednesday-We will wipe out the competition
Thursday-Let’s win with flying colors! Dress in as many colors as you can!
Friday-Sancrabs are golden! Blind the Bulldogs with all your gold!

The Jostens representative will be here tomorrow to have meeting with juniors and seniors about rings and graduation items.  Please listen for the announcements.  Junior meeting will be at 10:20 am and Senior meeting will be at 11:00 am in the auditorium. 

Congratulations to sandies volleyball for winning their first district game against Sinton.

Student Council is hosting the annual Juniors vs Seniors Homecoming Taco Cook off this Friday morning before school in the parking lot. Everyone is welcome to a free taco and to cheer on the class that they think should win!

Students-please go to your Google classroom “class of” to vote for this years Homecoming King & Queen. The winners will be announced at the homecoming game on Friday night.

Congratulations to our Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams for their success in the St. Joseph High School Cross Country Invitational Meet this past weekend at Coleto Creek Park in Victoria. 

Our Varsity Girls finished 2nd overall in the team standings of the 2-mile race. Our girls were led by Phoebe Huang who finished 2nd overall, she was followed by Fehrie Rodriguez who finished 7th overall and after Fehrie was Ava Manning, Eva Sanchez, Ella Vaquez, Chelsea Saenz, Victoria Varela and Zoe Conde.  Our Varsity Boys finished 3rd overall in the team standings of the 3-mile race. Our boys were led by Eddie Rendon and he was followed by Rocky Ybarra, Linkyn Garza-Doolin, Dylan Hill, Alex Tafolla and Anthony Ybarra.  In the JV Girls Division Sarah Armbruster finished 5th overall and following Sarah was Emmalee Laredo who finished 12th overall.  Our JV Boys finished 1st in the JV Division with Mason Rodriguez leading the way with a 9th place finish and Mason was followed by Damien Mendez who finished 12th, following Damien was Armando Perez, Viet Nguyen and Cesar Guerrero.  Our next meet will be this Saturday at the Islander Splash Meet in Corpus Christi, Texas. 

Anyone interested in joinging UIL Journalism or UIL Ready Writing come by A110-Mrs. Johnson’s room, Tuesday or Wednesday before or after school to get information to join.

Friday, September 16th is the last day of the yearbook special that includes a cost of $60 and four free yearbook icons.  Please see Mrs. Sontag in A109 for order forms and information. Order forms are also available in the front office.  Last year we ran out of yearbooks and we were not able to order more.  Make sure you get your yearbook order in early to reserve your copy of the 22/23 yearbook. 

The restrooms by the snack bar will be closed every day after 1:30 for maintenance. Please plan to use a different restroom in the main building. 

There are still  a lot of students who have not turned in the first day registration paperwork.  Please get that turned in this week.  Also, the front office will be sending back paperwork that was not completed.  Please get those forms filled out and returned asap.

If you would like to go to the 2022 Homecoming dance teacher on Saturday, September 17, please see Mrs. Anderson in W203 or any student council member to purchase tickets. Cost is $10 per ticket. Thank you and hope to see you there!

Tip for the day-  If you walk to school, never dart out in front of a parked car.
