Congratulations to sandies volleyball on their wins against Ingleside. Please come out and support your sandies tomorrow as they take on Rockport!

This past Saturday our Calhoun Sandcrab Band Participated in the UIL Region 14 Marching Contest in Beeville.  The band was given the superior rating of a 1st Division.  The band will now compete in the UIL Area competition in Calallen on October 29th against bands from San Antonio to the valley. Congratulations band & Good Luck!

Congratulations to Phoebe Huang who medaled and finished 3rd overall in the District 30 4A Cross Country Meet. Phoebe qualified for the regional meet for her 4th straight year. Also congratulations to the Varsity Boys Team of Jakob Bargas, Eddie Rendon, Linkyn Garza-Doolin
Rocky Ybarra, Dylan Hill, Alexander Tafolla and Anthony Ybarra who finished 2nd overall in the team competition and qualified for the regional meet. Both Jakob  who finished 7th and Eddie who finished 8th received individual medals for finishing in the top 10. The Regional Meet will be next Monday October 24th in Corpus Christi, Texas. Congratulations once again to our Regional Qualifiers. 

Calhoun Fans... grab your lucky charms.  Our Sandies Volleyball team will be playing Rockport Tuesday evening.  They need your support.  Also our Sandcrab football team needs your help and needs a win!  So this week, break out the horseshoes, 4 leaf clovers, lucky rabbit's foot, whatever it takes.   Let's rally around all of our athletes and support their efforts.

Wednesday, October 19th is Unity Day. Please wear orange to help promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Red Ribbon Week and Cancer Awareness Week will be the last week in October.  Student Council has come up with themes and colors to wear for each day.  Check your Google Classroom for the themes so that you have plenty of time to get ready!

Pink Shirts are in!! Get them while we got them!! See your favorite Student athletic trainer or come by the athletic training room to order. $20 for short sleeve, $25 for long sleeve. 

Student Council is hosting another blood drive on Wednesday, October 26!  If you are 16 or older, please consider donating blood to save a life and to also graduate with your red cord.  Please sign up using the QR code on the poster in the hallways and in your Google Classroom and please add your teacher's name in the notes section. If you are 16, please see Mrs. Anderson in W203 for a permission slip or you can print one from Google Classroom.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Anderson.

Tip for the day – If you are driving behind a bus, it is illegal in all 50 states to pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children.
