The Calhoun Choirs attended the Region 14 UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest on Saturday, February 4th at Victoria East High School and returned home with 41 MEDALS!! 4 students receiving an Excellent rating for Solo Vocal Performance were: Rhiannon Pickens, Alexandra Marroquin, Sadie Lee & Riley Henderson, 4 students receiving a Superior rating and Bronze Medal for Grade 3 Solo Vocal Performance were: Bryten Baker, Vianey Landeros, Kali Martinez & William McClellan.  2 students receiving a Superior rating and Silver Medal for Grade 2 Solo Vocal Performance were: Gabrielle Mesa & Aleigh Thurkill.  11 students receiving a Superior rating, a Gold Medal and QUALIFYING for the STATE CONTEST in Grade 1 SOLO Vocal Performance were:   Paige Bonuz, Calli Brown, Cheyenne Brumlow, Alexis Chandler,  Cassandra Lopez, Zachary McClellan, Magdalena Montenegro,  Natalie Mungia, Leonel Pena, Victoria Varela & Kristina Villarreal.  The Men’s Ensemble received a Superior rating and Silver medals for a Grade 2 Ensemble. Members were:  Bryten Baker, Riley Henderson, William McClellan,  Zachary McClellan, Leonel Pena & Francesco Prontera.  The Women’s Ensemble received a Superior rating and Gold medals for a Grade 1 Ensemble. Members were: Brianna Avalos, Paige Bonuz, Calli Brown, Cheyenne Brumlow, Alexis Chandler, Keira Fleming, Vianey Landeros, Sadie Lee, Cassandra Lopez, Alexandra Marroquin, Kali Martinez, Gabriella Mesa, Magdalena Montenegro, Natalie Mungia, Rhiannon Pickens, Aleigh Thurkill, Victoria Varela & Kristina Villarreal.

Students, this is just a reminder to come through the 300 hallway until 8:20 am.  You will not be allowed to come through the front office doors until after 8:20 am.     

The CHS Course Fair is tonight!  All freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and their parents are invited to come to the CHS cafeteria between 5:00 & 6:00 to check out the classes, clubs, and sports that will be available to them next year.

Seniors-Scholarship information and packets will be ready to start working today. Please come and see Mrs. McCarthy-Vesely for instructions, etc.  Do not get out of class, only come by before or after school, during your lunch or during passing periods.  Do not be late for class.  

Robotics Team - Drivers and programmers need to practice.  Everyone else needs to build.  We won't meet today so we can be at Course Fair.  Please attend meetings on Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 6 and on Sunday from 1 to 5.  We really need members to show up and build.  Please plan to make a meeting or two.

Register for the school day SAT, ACT, or PSAT in the front office by Friday. Check your Google Classroom for more information.

Seniors, do not forget the following scholarship application deadlines: The TDECU scholarship deadline is today.  This is an online applications.

Tip for the day –Wearing appropriate footwear is important when using a ladder; shoes or boots may be wet, causing you to slip as you climb the ladder.
