Happy Birthday Coach Saenz

On Saturday the Sandies traveled to Columbus and suffered a 2- 0 loss. Mileidy Anzaldua led the team in steals with 7, Maggy Montenegro and Shayla Nolasco with 4 steals. The Sandies hosted Hallettsville last night and won 3 to 0. Ehther Htoo scored all 3 goals with 2 goals assisted by Shayla Nolasco and 1 goal assisted by Claire Flores. Mileidy Anzaldua  led the team with 8 steals followed by Maggy Montenegro with 6 and Ashlyn Maldonado and Shayla Nolasco with 5 steals. A strong defense led by seniors Alysha Padilla, Alexandra Muniz and Goalie Kristina Villarreal limited Hallettsville to 2 shots on goal. The Sandies will host Rice on Friday, February 17th at 7 pm.

The Calhoun Sandcrabs obtained their sixth district victory defeating Hallettsville HS 13 to 0.  Jefher Ramos scored 7 goals, Ta Moo, Pietro Tremari, Alberto Arias, Cesar Aguilar, Rogelio Jimenez and John Moreno scored 1 goal each for a total of 13 goals.  Congratulations SANDCRABS!

Robotics Club Members -  Please attend the Wednesday meeting today at 4pm. Programmers, we are ready for you and builders are always needed.  See you at the Robotics Shop!

Class War Trivia is in full swing again.  Yesterday's question... What is the title of the Calhoun High School Yearbook?  ...Breaker.  That is where Breaker Beauty's name came from, it is a fundraiser for the yearbook.  Check out today's question.  Scan the pink QR code in the cafeteria.

Seniors, Nominations were made and now you can vote on Senior Favorites for YOUR Senior Day. Currently in the lead after 39 votes: Song: When We Were Young by Adele. Flower: Peonies. Colors: Gold & White. Quote: "We didn't realize we were making memories, we just thought we were having fun." Go to Google Classroom to vote before February 19th!!!!!

Bracelets in support of Jacob, Hunter and McCoy are still for sale in Mrs. Anderson and Coach Spencer's rooms. Every dollar helps, so if you haven't purchased a bracelet yet, please consider doing so this week.  They're only $2, but if everyone helps, we can do a lot for these families.  Thank you to those that have already helped. Wear your bracelets!!! 

Seniors, the Jostens representative will be here on February 21st to deliver cap and gowns.  He will also have extras to sell.

Tip for the day –Cold and wet weather can lead to possible hypothermia.  Watch out for shivering or trembling, general lack of coordination, including stumbling nd dropping things and drowsiness, confusion and apathy.
