The Calhoun Golf teams competed in the 4A Regional Preview this past weekend. Boys and the girls team both came in 2nd. Girls team was led by Audrey Winemiller in 5th place, followed by Jillian Tanner in 6th and Brynn Passmore in 9th place, McKenna Guevara in 14th, and Baylee Bates in 16th, overall and finished out the team. Boys were led by Josiah Campos who was 3rd place, Brock Billings in 5th place, Jacob Nyguen in 11th, Cole Spicak in 13th, Treston Canales in 16th.
On Saturday the Sandies defeated Wharton 4 to 2. Claire Flores lead the team in scores with 3 goals, Ehther Htoo scored 1 goal with 2 assists and 3 steals, Ashlyn Maldonado had an assist and a steal, Shayla Nolasco an assist and 2 steals, Maggy Montenegro 4 steals and Mileidy Anzaldua with 7 steals. The Sandies travel to Palacios today to battle the sharks.
Seniors, if you are working on scholarships, you need to get with Mrs. Hermes to get your updated transcript and do not forget to get your FAFSA done as soon as possible. Do not wait until the last minute to take care of this.
Seniors, if you are applying for the local scholarships, please come by the office and pick up the brown envelopes you will need to put the scholarship applications in before you turn in all of the completed information. Please do not forget.
Seniors, if you forgot to pick up your senior items from Jostens, please come by and see Mrs. McCarthy-Vesely in the front office. Also, there are extra cap and gowns for sale for $55.00 cash.
There will be a mandatory dual credit parent meeting tomorrow at 6 p.m. If you will be taking classes through Victoria College for the first time, your parent must attend.
Tip for the day –When getting ready for spring break, read up on the destination you will be traveling to. Choose a safe hotel in a good area..
