The blood drive will be on a block schedule day for MAP testing for 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th periods.  Please do not sign up to donate blood during a testing time.  If you already did, we will adjust your time.

Seniors, all corrections to scholarships and the Lavaca Lodge scholarship are due today by noon.

Congrats to our Sandies softball team on a great Friday. The Jv team came up short in the last inning losing 5-1 against Rockport in a hard fought game. Our Varsity team beat Rockport4-3 making them 5-0 in district play. 

Calhoun Athletic Training room will be closed all day on Monday, March 27th and Tuesday, March 28th. Please don't send any students down.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  Will reopen in the afternoon each day.

The UIL Academics team annihilated the district 30 4A competition at A.C. Jones high school in Beeville, Texas this weekend. They won as DISTRICT SWEEPSTAKES CHAMPIONS with 699 points. That’s 409 points higher than the second place winner, Sinton, who had a score of 290. In Accounting, Jonathan Nguyen placed 1st, Bryan Diggs placed 2nd, Kayla Hall placed 4th, Natalia Zarate placed 5th, and Jack Graham placed 6th. Their team placed 1st overall. In Computer Apps, Eryka Menchaca placed 2nd, Jonathan Nguyen placed 3rd, and Christian Graham placed 4th.  In Computer Science, Stacy Zhang placed 1st, Seth Sandberg placed 2nd, Leo Liang placed 4th, and Christian Graham placed 6th. Their team placed 1st overall. In Calculator Apps, Doreen Luo placed 1st, Tammy Zhang placed 2nd,Seth Sandberg placed 3rd, and Greg Huang placed 4th. Their team placed 1st overall. In Mathematics, Stacy Zhang placed 1st, Leo Liang placed 2nd, Seth Sandberg placed 3rd, Doreen Luo placed 4th, and Tammy Zhang placed 5th. Their team placed 1st overall. In Number Sense, Stacy Zhang placed 1st, Leo Liang placed 4th, and Tammy Zhang placed 6th. Their team placed 1st overall.  In Literary Criticism, Brilee Crittenden placed 1st, Kashney Cantu placed 4th, and CJ Sanchez placed 6th. Their team placed 1st overall.  In Ready Writing, Celeste Kwi placed 1st, Kashney Cantu placed 3rd, and Jakob Novelo placed 4th. In Spelling and Vocabulary, Arin Lin placed 1st and Johnna Chen placed 2nd. Their team placed first.  In Science, Seth Sandberg placed 1st, Stacy Zhang placed 2nd, Tammy Zhang placed 3rd, Leo Liang placed 5th. Stacy Zhang also received top Chemistry and Physics. Seth Sandberg also received top Biology. Their team placed first overall.  In Current Issues and Events, Dar Moo placed 2nd, Gabbie Mesa placed 3rd, and Sloan Gaines placed 5th. Their team placed 2nd overall. In Social Studies, Sloan Gaines placed 3rd and Kimberly Bunurai placed 5th. Their team placed 1st overall. In Copy Editing, Sadie Lee placed 5th. In Editorial Writing, Brilee Crittenden placed 6th. In Feature Writing, Theo Perez placed 6th. In Headline Writing, Theo Perez placed 1st and Brilee Crittenden placed 5th. In News Writing, Sydney Sun placed 3rd. Their team placed 4th overall. In Informative Speaking, Mason Rodriguez placed 3rd. In the Lincoln Douglas Debate, Damien Mendez placed 5th. In Persuasive Speaking, Naw Paw Doh placed 3rd. In Prose, Emily Caylor placed 1st and Alice Chiu placed 2nd. In Poetry, Mason Rodriguez placed 5th. Their team placed 3rd overall. GO SANDCRABS!!! Congratulations to the winners and GOOD LUCK to the regional advancers! They will be traveling to Texas A&M Corpus Christi for competition on April 22nd. 

Over the weekend, the Sandette Drill Team traveled to Sea World in San Antonio for Nationals. Both JV and Varsity received a Division 1 ranking and first place in their class. The officers were awarded second place in their division for their pom routine. Way to go, ladies

Seniors, please check your Class of 23 Google Classroom for Senior Day Information. Under Classwork, there is a Senior Day Topic where we will be adding information that you will need to know.

Seniors, tomorrow you will be called down to the cafeteria at 9:30 am to meet with a representative from the Victoria Health Department.  This quick meeting will give you an opportunity to sign your consent form for the ImmTrac Immunization Registry.  You are required to sign your own consent form after your 18th birthday.  Please listen for the announcement to release seniors next Tuesday, March 28th around 9:30 am.

Tip for the day –During spring, always wear protective gloves even if it is hot outside.
