Happy Birthyday Ms. Crow

It was a great weekend for sandies volleyball! Varsity won the Goliad tournament. Kendal Bargas was named tournament MVP while Nevaeh Rangel and Layla Myers were crowned all tournament. Sandies JV got 3rd place at the Victoria tournament while freshman took the championship at the Victoria tournament! Great work sandies!

The JV Gold traveled to Stafford to take on the Spartans last Thursday and came home with an 8 to 0 win. The Sandcrabs took the opening drive 75 yards on 10 plays. Billy Woody scored on a 6 yard run to give the Sandcrabs a 6 to 0 lead with 1 minute remaining in the 1st quarter. The defense opened 2nd half play with a safety to give the sandcrabs an 8 to 0 lead. The Sandcrab defense with 3 goalline stances and 2 interceptions in the endzone by Jaiden Farrow held the Spartans scoreless and gave the Sandcrabs a big win on the road. 

Seniors: please check your emails. If you were nominated for the homecoming court ballot, you should have an email from Coach Spencer. Please send her a response today if you want to be included.

Freshmen: vote now for your class of 2027 officers in Google classroom. Voting ends Wednesday at 4 PM.

Congratulations to both the Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams as they competed in The Industrial Cross Country Invitational Meet. The Boys Varsity finished second overall in the team standings. Leading the way in the 5K for the boys was John Moreno who finished second overall in the individual standings.  Following John was Colton Evans, Dylan Hill, Linkyn Garza-Doolin, Anthony Ybarra, Rocky Ybarra.  The Girls Varsity led by Delilah Dowell finished seventh in the team standings in the 2-mile race. Delilah finished 15 th overall in the individual standings. Following Delilah was Fehrle Rodriguez, Eva Sanchez, Claire Flores, Sarah Armbruster. The Boys JV finished fourth overall as a team with Diago Medina leading the way. Following Diago was Cristofer Pena, Leopold Garza, Samuel Cruz, Jaiden Sanchez, Avon Garza, Eli Falcon, Viet Nguyen, Armando Perez, Mason Rodriguez.  The Girls JV finished fifth overall as a team and they were led by Merin Cortez. Following Merin was Andrea Henriquez, Naw Paw Doh, Rike Weber, Lilly Gibson.  Our next Cross Country Meet will be Saturday September 9 at the St. Joseph High School Cross Invitational Meet at Coleto Creek in Victoria.

This is just a reminder to all students, turn in your registration paperwork to your homeroom teacher by the end of this week.  Make sure it is completely filled out and signatures are on all pages 

Seniors!!! It’s time to paint your parking spots! Forms will be available at all three lunches.  If you do not get a form at lunch today, please get with a student council member, or go to Coach Spencer’s room in W204 to obtain a form.  A down payment of $20 is required to reserve your space.  No spaces will be reserved without a down payment.  Total cost is $40.

Testing for the PSAT/NMSQT will be on Tuesday, October 10th. Bring $18 to Mrs. Perez in the front office by August 30th if you would like to take the test.

Student Council is hosting the first blood drive of the year on August 31. Please sign up using the QR codes or link on the poster in Google Classroom if you are 16 or older and would like to donate. If you are 16, you must have a permission form signed by your parents. Please see Mrs. Anderson in room E206 for a form or print one from Google Classroom.
