Seniors-this is a reminder that the following scholarships are due soon: Catholic Life (State), Texas Farm Bureau online, and Victoria Electric Coop Online are due 3-1-24. The Catholic Life State scholarship-you are responsible for mailing it the them yourself-do not turn it in to Mrs. McCarthy-Vesely. The Jackson Electric scholarship application is due to Mrs. McCarthy Vesely by 3-4-24 so that she can get it mailed in time for them to receive it by the due date.
Seniors, a new scholarship has been added. Please check your google classroom and check out the Region 3 Future Teachers Scholarship. The application is online and due March 29th. Also, you only have 2 more weeks to pick up scholarship packets, do not wait until the last minute.
The Sandies defeated the Wharton Tigers on Friday 1 to 0. Bianca Rodriguez scored for the Sandies with Ella Vazquez assisting. Mileidy Anzaldua and Jaeleigh Campos led the team with 9 steals each and Addyson Rangel finished the night with 10 saves for the shutout. The Sandies travel to Palacios on Tuesday to play the lady sharks.
This weekend, the Calhoun Sandettes Varsity and JV teams traveled to Dripping Springs High School for competition. JV won runner up in both their dance categories while Varsity won Pom and military and runner up in hip hop as well as runner up for team. Congratulations Sandettes!!!
Congratulations to the Art students that competed on Saturday.Bellynda Cruz, Zarina Rivera, Josie Munoz, Luth Garcia, Alexander Cosper, Renea Longoria, Mariana Quiralte, Mckenzie Deboard, and Davion Rodriguez. All 9 students qualified to the Area Judging, from there 2 students advanced to the State final in April. They Are Alexander Cosper in Division 4, and Zarina Rivera Division 2.
The Calhoun Sandcrabs obtained their ninth victory of the season and remain undefeated in district. They won against Wharton HS 10 to 0. Cesar Aguilar scored 2 goals, Ta Moo, Mario Vargas, Rogelio Jimenez, John Moreno, Max Bilal, Jan Pablo Martinez and Guilherme Leuenroth scored goals for a total of 10 goals. Congratulations SANDCRABS!
The Calhoun Sandies Softball team went 3-3 this weekend in the IWA classic with 50 teams in it. They played some tough competition from all over Texas.
They will begin district Vs Beeville at Home Tuesday night. JV @ 5 and Varsity @ 6:30. Come out and Support your Sandies.
Do not forget that the last scheduled Saturday to make up hours for first semester is March 1st.
