A round of applause to our boys soccer Sandcrabs for a great season…Seniors, always remember our soccer motto “Do things with passion and with commitment and your future will be successful”.  We will miss you all guys!
 
Seniors, listen up!!!  We have three new local scholarships. Two are  open to any senior.  The name of one is Lavaca River Shootout Foundation for $1,000.00.  You will Use the CHS Common Application.  The other scholarship is the Hunter Hadley’s Quest Scholarship-you will need to come by and get their application for that one.  Also, Bethany Senior Living is open to any art, drama or journalism degree.  (See google classroom for full information on all of them).  The deadline on them will be Thursday, April 4th by homeroom.  

The Calhoun Golf team competed in the District 30 4A golf tournament. The girls came home with 2nd place and qualified for regionals. The team consisted of Brynn Passmore, Jillian Tanner, Trinity Morgan, Lilly Gossett and Lyric Lopez. The boys came in 3rd, just missed qualifying for regionals. Josiah Campos came in 2nd overall and qualified as an individual. The team consisted of Josiah Campos, Cole Spicak, Heston Lovett, Gunner Evans, and Patrick Ragusin.

Tennis Results BOYS SINGLES   Benjamin Curlee Quarterfinals def Beeville 8-4, SemiFinals def Cuero 8-6, FINAL def Calhoun (Owen Mitchell) 8-3, BOYS SINGLES CHAMPION.  Owen Mitchell Quarterfinals def Beeville 8-3, SemiFinals def Cuero 8-3, FINAL loss to Calhoun (Benjamin Curlee) 3-8 BOYS SINGLES RUNNER UP.  GIRLS SINGLES Julieta Rodriguez Quarterfinals def Beeville 8-5, SemiFinals def Cuero 8-1,  FINAL loss to Orange Grove 2-8 GIRLS SINGLES RUNNER UP.  MIXED DOUBLES Mason Rodriguez/Brilee Crittenden 4th PLACE FINISH.  

The team from SSR Letter Jackets will be on campus on Tuesday, April 9th from 11:45 – 1:10 at the Calhoun High School Main Gym to measure for letter jackets, and to take up order forms and payments. All directions on how to order your jacket are in your packet. Please pick up a packet from your coach, director or sponsor if you have not already done so. 

Good morning, CHS! Students, would you like to take a trip to Austin and learn more about our state's government on Friday, April 12th? We will tour our beautiful state capitol building, attend a State Board of Education meeting, eat at the Capitol Grill, watch an IMAX movie about the ocean, watch the background video on the Labelle, and visit the Bob Bullock Museum. Juniors and Seniors: As of today you have 2 days left to finish Texas College Bridge and earn STAAR late in.  Please remember that you need to write and submit your essay in Texas College Bridge English.  This is required in order to be fully complete.  Your English teacher can help with this! 

Seniors--Student Council would like to include you in the Senior Day Baby Slideshow.  Be sure to send a baby picture or toddler picture to [email protected] by this Friday.  This information is also in your Google Classroom. 

This week is Child Abuse Awareness Week. Here are the dress up days: Thursday, April 4: Stand together against Child Abuse–Twin, Friday, April 5: Go BLUE day–Wear as much blue as you can.

Good news!!  Yearbook pre-orders have reopened until this Friday.  If you would like to guarantee your copy of the yearbook, see Mrs. Sontag in room A109 for an order form.

Tip for the day-While driving, keep a 2-second cushion between you and the car in front of you.  Make that 4 seconds if the weather is bad.

Students-at this time, check your email. 

Teachers, please check the ISS Spreadsheet and add work for your students.  Homeroom teachers, please check the Tutorial Spreadsheet at this time and send students to their teachers.
