At approximately 7:15 a.m. this morning, a Calhoun County ISD police officer was conducting a safety check of a side arm. During the safety check, in a closed office, there was an accidental discharge while the weapon was pointed downward. There were no injuries. The officer has trained on the safe handling of a side arm. The Calhoun County ISD Police Department is conducting an investigation.
